DRAGON NEST JADE COMPARISON

Preliminary Comparison between Dragon Jade & Suffix/Potential System

There have been various discussions on the new dragon jade system in DN CN: whether it is inferior or superior as compared to the current suffix/potential system. While it is almost sure that we will eventually switch to 70A gear (since the developer promise that 70A+jade > 60S-II), the question of whether one should invest in 60S gear still remains open.

How long will 60S-II stay useful? Can 70A+B jade be better than 60S-II?

Currently, only B-grade jade has been released. As we all know, these jades are far inferior as compared to the potential & suffix system (based on 60S-II). A few days ago, 神神 from duowan published the stats of 60S and 70A stats enhancing jade which he found in KDN client (see ref 1, i will not translate it though). Based on his findings, i will attempt to give a preview on the strength/weakness of the upcoming 70A gear in CDN.

However, do note that the effect/stats of  skill jade has not been discovered in the client yet. 神神 also found that the stats of Dragon Jade in CDN and KDN are different for some unknown reason. It is possible that these stats are subject to change when they are officially released. Nevertheless, i believe this article will provide some basic insights on the mysterious A-jade and likely help CDN players to decide whether they should invest in 60S-II gear or wait for 70A to be released this month.

A-Jade Stats Variation

Before i start with the comparison, some explanations on 70A jade are required.

There are 3 grades of A-jades: Crude, Intermediate, and Premium. It is currently unknown how these jades are obtained ingame yet.

However, from  神神 findings, we do know that these jades appear with slight variations to the stats (in a way, pretty similar to the current 60S plate). There are only 2 variations each for Crude Hp jade and Intermediate HP jade:

Crude HP jade 1: Vit + 129, HP+7171, HP+5%, chance = 50%
Crude HP jade 2: Vit + 259, HP+5737, HP+5%, chance = 50%

Each variation has 50% chance to appear. As for the Premium one, there are a lot more variations; for example Premium HP jade has up to 34 different stats variations !! However, each of the variations has the same percentage HP boost = 5%; only the fixed stats vary. Examples:

Premium HP jade 1: Vit+402, HP+22231, HP+5%, chance = 25%
Premium HP jade 2: Vit+805, HP+17785, HP+5%, chance = 25%

Jade 1 and 2 are probably the mainstream HP jade, and thus i will be using one of them in the following analysis. Other examples of rare variations includes:

Premium HP jade 7: Phy attack + 61, Vit+734, HP+16215, HP+5%, chance = 2.79%
Premium HP jade 28: Crit + 412, Vit+367, HP+8107, Hp+5%, chance = 0.84%

Even though jades #7 and #28 come with offensive stats (crit or phy attack), the vit and hp stats are significantly lower than the more common Jade #1 and #2. This trend is observed almost in all variations: additional stats typically come with a sacrifice of the main stats.

A-Jade Slot

For those who still do not know, there are 3 jade slots on A,S,L grade equipment.

Armor: 2 hexagonal jade + 1 triangular jade

Weapon: 1 hexagonal jade + 1 elliptical jade + 1 triangular jade

Hexagonal Jade: INT, STR, AGI, HP, MP, etc
Elliptical Jade: Phy Att, Mag Att, Elemental Att, Crit, etc
Triangular Jade: Skill Jade (likely, not yet released)

Square Jade: unknown
Comma-shaped Jade: unknown

Despite having 2 hexagonal slots on an armor, you can't equip 2 x jade of the same kind ( for example, 2 x hp jade) to a certain piece of armor.

Weapon Comparison

I will use an engineer's weapons, cannon and thimble as examples for the weapon comparison mainly because i can only find the +10 enchantment stats for these 2 weapons (ref 2). I cannot guarantee that the same conclusion applies to weapons of other classes, but i believe that they shouldn't differ significantly.

* The cells highlighted in blue shows the stats granted by the A-Jade.
* I have used Phy Attack jade #2 (25% chance) and Agi jade #1 (50% chance) for the following comparison (see table in ref 1)

Destructive-Iron wall combination

A few simple trends can be observed from the above comparisons:
· Enchantment stats for 70A is 38%  better than 60S at +10.
· Base Attack for 70A main weapon is weaker than 60S-II. However with the additional phy attack from Phy attack jade, phy attack of 70A does match or even surpass 60S-II.
· Base Attack for 70A sub weapon is 36% stronger than 60S-II
· Base Crit for 70A main weapon is weaker than 60S-II
· 70A sub weapon has ZERO base crit.
· Agi stats for 70A >> 60S-II
· Phy attack % and agi % for 60A < 60S-II

Since you can only slot 2 stats jade (one for phy attack/elemental attack/crit and one for agi/int/str), the new 70A will not has 3 or more stats % boost. You are basically forced to pick which two stats you want to focus on.

Also, there are NO duo elemental % boost (fire+ice etc), or crit+phy attack type of jade.

If you are wondering, what can 70S jade offer? Will it give more percentage stats boost? Or maybe the possibility of getting crit+phy attack or fire+ice?

The answer is NO. (as shown in Ref 1 for 60S jade).

If you are a multi-elemental class user (especially adept, elemental lord etc), you should know what to do, after learning this fact.

Elemental Class Vs Non-Elemental Class

Despite the nerf to physical attack % from 5.75% > 4% and str,agi 4.5% > 4%, int 3.5%>3.2%, the developer kept the elemental boost intact.

Fire, Ice, Dark and Light jade still give 8% elemental attack, similar to the current potential.

This actually gives elemental class a slight edge over non-elemental class in terms of damage boosting efficiency. However, it is impossible to get duo elemental % boost or elemental attack+phy/mag attack type of opt on weapon anymore, even for S-grade weapon in the future (L grade not sure yet).

Agi Class vs Non Agi Class
The same logics can be applied to agi and non-agi classes. Agi classes will have a much easier time to hit the crit cap of 61k+ due to their focus on agi % and high agi stats, without any sacrifice to their raw attack stats.

Non-agi class will likely have to make a choice between Crit Jade and Phy/Mag attack Jade since you can only slot one of them for a particular weapon. This matter is made worse when the main and sub weapon give little or no crit stats =.=

Well, the good news is, crit jade still gives 17% crit .

Do note that efficiency of crit dmg in the new lv70 Guardian Nest is halved due to the extremely high crit resist. The choice of crit jade and phy/mag attack jade have to be evaluated carefully in the future.

....will write part 2: armor comparison when i am free.
